This project with Monument Lab tells the behind the scenes story of the making of the "Declaration House" exhibition by artist Sonya Clark. This project featured animated and real eyes of the descendants of Monticello which were displayed through the windows of the historic Declaration House in Philadelphia where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence.
In addition to Producing the project, I helped assist in the creative direction and post-production process of generating the eyes that were displayed in the windows.
Monument Lab’s Re:Generation is a field building initiative that builds capacity and new monumental approaches in cohorts across nationwide sites of memory.
The second cohort, launched in 2024, featured ten teams working on public art, public history, or public humanities projects. Each selected Re:Generation team received a total of $100,000 in unrestricted funding towards their commemorative campaign or project rooted in the living history of a neighborhood, city, or region.
I edited, produced, and wrote this recap video chronicling the year long project with the 10 teams.
In addition to editing the video itself, as Producer I oversaw the scheduling, planning, and execution of video coverage for Monument Lab's 3-day Summit gathering, including interviewing, filming, and management of crew.
Produced, Wrote and Edited this mini-documentary in collaboration with The Trust for the National Mall. This film highlights the inaugural exhibition of Beyond Granite, entitled Pulling Together - a dynamic series of art installations on the National Mall designed to create a more inclusive, equitable, and representative commemorative landscape. Met by widespread critical acclaim, this inaugural exhibition helped bring new stories and new perspectives to the nation’s most iconic commemorative space.
10 individual videos were created for social media following each of the 10 teams involved in this project. This larger recap video combines these teasers with a larger in-depth narrative focused on 3 teams.
